The history of Paloma Barceló dates back to 1960, the year in which Manuel Barceló set up Cosí Cosí Footwear S.L. in Elche, one of the leading manufacturing centres on the outskirts of Alicante. The Barceló family made an early impact thanks to the creative genius of Manuel Barceló, a master in producing handcrafted ropes and plaits and a perfectionist in the manufacture of espadrilles and rope platforms for leading brands.

The factory in Elche became the starting point for Manuel Barceló, son of the brand's founder who decided to launch Paloma Barceló 19 years ago. Design and innovation were the company’s distinctive features right from the very first collections, which have gone on to star in the world's most important and beautiful window displays and fascinate international celebrities. In Spain, the flagship store is in Calle Claudio de Coello 26 in Madrid, on the Golden Mile.
